TECHNOLOGY.
Aistech Space combines its expertise in geospatial analysis with its own constellation of small satellites and supporting infrastructure to provide solutions that help clients understand and monitor their assets.
Space infrastructure.
The small satellite team is a motivated, innovate and hands-on group using the best approaches on concurrent systems engineering design to provide Aistech Space with its own constellation solution.
The constellation is based on a multi-payload and multi-platform mission of 120 small satellites spaced in 10 orbital planes for full Earth coverage and low data latency.
The best quality at Aistech Space is our flexibility and adaptability to new market niches producing new space technology for our small satellites to solve these market needs.
Satellite Design for Pathfinder Missions Facility
The team is designing from scratch the small satellites of the constellation in the Barcelona facilities with the strong collaboration of the SW team in the Vigo facilities. The new pathfinder missions carrying upgrades in HW and/or SW is always being developed by our systems engineering team. The first successful mission was Aistechsat-3 (internally called DANU Pathfinder) launched on April 2019.
Satellite Mass Production Facility
Once the concurrent systems engineering team has designed, integrated, tested and launched a new pathfinder small satellite, the satellite mass production facility in the Basque Country will be building them at a 4 small satellite per month rate. The facilities will include office space, materials storage area, small satellite integration bays, propulsion bay, environmental facilities and cargo storage.
Satellite Constellation
The Aistech Space constellation is based on a mix of small satellite platforms, 2U and 6U, with multiple payloads onboard.
The HYDRA platform (6U) is carrying onboard an Earth Observation payload designed by our team. The MST is a multispectral telescope with a variety of sensors from the PAN, RGB, NIR, SWIR, MIR and, specially, TIR. The multi-payload platform is completed with an ADSB receiver, a Space-IoT and SIGINT technology. The total number of HYDRAs planned to deploy in orbit are 22 small satellites.
The DANU platform (2U) is also a multi-payload platform focused on Asset Monitoring integrating onboard an ADSB receiver, a Space-IoT and SIGINT technology. The total number of DANUs planned to deploy in orbit are 98 small satellites.
Ground Station Network
Creating a small satellite technology does not solve the issue of getting the payload data to our clients in a reasonable amount of time. Aistech Space is creating its own ground segment network to operate its small satellite constellation internally and joining with external companies with a ground station network to reduce the latency between payload data collected and delivered to our clients. Aistech Space operates from two ground stations in its own offices of Barcelona and Vigo.
Operations Main Facilities
The small satellite team includes operations engineers capable of tasking daily our constellation, receiving telemetry and payload data and processing and delivering it to the clients. Two teams are constantly monitoring the constellation status and their payload activity using a semi-automated operational approach.
