JOB DESCRIPTION
The “Software” Team at Aistech Space is looking for an experienced cloud developer to assist in the full life-cycle development of our ground infrastructure enabling the creation of geospatial applications. We are an Agile team, highly collaborative, and focused on short development iterations.
In addition to this, you will be in contact as well with the rest of the company’s business areas, to detect and exploit potential synergies that could arise new business opportunities. As a part of the software team, you will directly participate in the architecture definition, development of SW, testing, and deployment of the different SW modules related to our cloud infrastructure.
You will interface directly with the satellite design team, payload design team, applications team, our partners, and other software developers to build up and continuously improve our infrastructure.
THE MAIN OBJECTIVES REGARDING THE CLOUD DEVELOPMENT ARE FOCUSSED ON:
- Understand Aistech Space’s mission objectives.
- Be part of, and collaborate with, the applications development team.
- To help develop, deploy, and maintain a scalable infrastructure system to run geospatial applications with multiple information sources in the cloud.
- Support business-led infrastructure choices.
- Recommend the adoption of new technologies, products, and services.
- Definition and analysis of cloud-computing software and infrastructure requirements and correspondence implementation in code using an agile methodology.
- Write testable code, documentation, and presentations.
- Follow your curiosity to suggest new ideas to make our products and processes better.
REQUIREMENTS
- Passion for space technologies.
- BSc/MSc in Information Technologies, Computer science, Cloud Computing.
- Open-minded cloud-computing developer with 3 -5 years’ experience with proven developments.
- Strong knowledge and experience in designing complex, scalable, highly available application systems in the cloud.
- Strong knowledge of python/bash/Go.
- Strong knowledge in network, cloud integration, cloud computing, and storage.
- Strong knowledge in data modeling and storage with both NoSQL and relational databases.
- Strong knowledge in Disaster Recovery, Backup, and retention architectures on the cloud.
- Experience with DevOps principles and tools (CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, etc.).
- Experience in working with containerized applications (e.g. docker).
- Experience in working with orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience with “infrastructure as code” tooling (chef, puppet, ansible, terraform,…).
- Experience with system performance monitoring tools (Nagios, ELK, etc.).
- Experience managing web servers (Nginx, apache, …).
- Knowledge of open-source geospatial technologies would be a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud security would be a plus.
- Knowledge of distributed streaming in Kafka would be a plus.
- Knowledge of big-data analytics platforms (such as Spark/Scala/Java) would be a plus.
- Knowledge of the Hadoop platform for distributed computing would be a plus.
- English speaker, at least First Certificate required.
OBJECTIVES AS A MEMBER OF AISTECH TEAM
- Actively engage in the development of documentation to build the company procedures and specification manuals.
- Write some articles regarding different areas of interest to be published in our magazine Aistech News.
- Participate in our team building activities.
