WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Aistech Space is looking for an entry-level AIV Engineer to be part of the Space Infrastructure Team assisting in the definition of AIV plan and procedures, implementation of these procedures and delivering fully tested and qualified  satellite/payloads to the launch team.

This new position offers the opportunity to rotate through each satellite engineering phase: design and analysis, integration and testing with a touch of real satellite operations.

In this role, you are expected to deal with suppliers, bureaucratic paperwork, launch plans and coordination of internal personnel to build a real satellite.

You will also be responsible to follow internal standards and good practices in terms of project management (Jira), documentation (Confluence) and time management (Tempo) following an agile approach in your daily work.

The key objectives to be achieved during the rotational period are:

  • Understand Aistech Space’s mission objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of our satellites and payloads.
  • Be part of the different Space Infrastructure Teams in different phases: design and analysis, integration and testing.
  • Be part of the negotiation team working closely with our partners and suppliers, understanding their proposal and adjusting it to our objectives.
  • Keep the best communication between internal teams: ground segment and operations, applications and business development
  • Recommend the adoption of new technologies, products, and services.
  • Be proactive writing your own code when needed, follow internal standards, make it testable and document it properly.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for satellite/payloads.
  • Write articles regarding different areas of interest to be published in our Aistech News magazine and on our website blog.
  • Actively engage in the development of documentation to build out the company procedures and specification manuals.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Passion for space technologies.
  • BSc/MSc in Aerospace Engineering or relevant degree.
  • Open minded and extrovert, active learner and tolerant to criticism
  • Strong knowledge of satellite technologies
  • Experience in the development, handling, integration and verification of space hardware
  • Experience in ground support equipment for AIV testing (EGSE)
  • Experience  in Linux systems
  • Experience in Python
  • Experience in DBs query languages
  • Knowledge of satellite verification engineering procedures/processes
  • Knowledge of environmental testing of space hardware (vibration, acoustic, shock, thermal vacuum, EMC)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Fluent in English

WHERE YOU WILL BE:

You will be located and based in our sunny Barcelona, Spain office. Some travel between offices and other potential Aistech and customer locations worldwide may be required. We are open to remote employees, to be evaluated on a case by case basis.
